Hey,
I'm Ashley.
I am so excited you have found me and can't wait to be on this journey with you!
Let me tell you a little bit about myself and my journey. As a devoted cowboy's wife and seasoned barrel racer, my deep connection to the Western lifestyle is woven into every aspect of my work. Growing up immersed in this world, I developed a profound respect for the traditions, values, and rugged beauty of the West. My experience in the Western industry—living the lifestyle, competing in barrel racing, and working as an equine massage therapist—has granted me a unique perspective on the animals and people I photograph. This intimate knowledge allows me to capture the authenticity of the Western way of life, from the strength and grace of a horse in motion to the determination etched on a cowboy’s face.
Photography has always been a part of my life, a passion passed down from my mother, who first introduced me to the art with her old film camera. I spent years capturing everyday moments on my iPhone, but my passion for documenting life truly sharpened after a wrist injury in December 2023. This setback turned into an opportunity, pushing me to pursue photography seriously. With the unwavering support of my husband, I began to hone my skills, photographing everything from cows in the irrigation fields we work in to the adrenaline-filled action of rodeo events and the quiet beauty of portraits.
In recent months, I’ve dedicated myself to mastering the art of rodeo, barrel racing, and editorial photography. To further expand my horizons, I attended a workshop in Utah, where I gained invaluable experience in Western and glam photography. This experience not only refined my technical skills but also boosted my confidence in posing and directing subjects, helping me create images that truly resonate with the Western spirit. This journey has been both challenging and rewarding, pushing me to continuously evolve as a photographer.
With newfound confidence, I decided to push the boundaries of my craft by organizing a large styled shoot in Arizona. Originally from Florida, my husband and I fell in love with Arizona’s rugged beauty—so much so that we eloped there, horses in tow. The West has been calling my name ever since, and I couldn’t wait to capture its essence. Experiencing an Arizona sunrise or sunset is truly life-changing, and it’s a moment I strive to encapsulate in my work.
My goal is to continually refine my skills and strive to be the best I can be, aiming to become everyone's go-to photographer for capturing the essence of the Western lifestyle. I’m especially eager to expand into Western weddings and elopements, drawing on my own firsthand experience. Each photograph I take is a tribute to the life I live and the passion I feel for this timeless way of life.
These past eight months have been a wild and amazing ride, boosting my confidence and helping me create content that has been featured on COWGIRL Magazine's Socials, Western Life Today's Social, and more.
